A word of advice: the day after Christmas -- that is, the day that follows several weeks' worth of gingerbread, pumpkin bread, ginger pumpkin bread, pumpkin gingerbread trifle, a dozen H&H bagels with cream cheese, several types of dip and/or cheese, many forms of potatoes all involving several sticks of butter, a stuffed pork tenderloin, prime rib, and Carvel birthday cake consumption -- is not the time to try on skinny jeans.
If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go put on a burlap sack. And then I'm going to play with my new toy some more (see Flickr for samples of the 75,000 shots I took of my nephew with it yesterday).
I hope your Christmas has been as awesome as ours. Except without the horror of the skinny jeans.
(And by the way, seriously? The Rockettes? Unbelievable! I'm so going back next year, and we're so going to make it part of our Christmas tradition with EmBe when she's here and when she gets old enough. We'll also have to include the Nutcracker, because I want her to appreciate the ballet, but now I know that the Radio City Christmas Spectacular has to be in there too because....well, it's freakin' spectacular!)
(And lest you think we're total philistines, we also went to the Riverside Church for Christmas Eve Lessons & Carols.)
(I'm already feeling wistful that the holiday is almost over. It always goes too fast. Wah.)
(End of parentheticals.)

Oooh. New toy. I've one too, it's the xti though. Thanks to my MIL, who bought it for me. More than makes up for years of forgetting my birthday. :)

Skinny jeans - NOOOOOOO!
My mom used to take me to the Nutcracker every year, and I loved it so much. That will be the perfect tradition for you and EmBe. I am so excited for you!

My mom took my sister and I to the Joffrey's Nutcracker here in Chicago last week, and it was...weird. The ending was off somehow - like something was missing. After Clara's travels through the Magic Land of the Sugar Plum Fairy, etc., she and Godfather Drosselmeyer got into a hot air balloon and left. And then it was over. So strange...and sort of anti-climactic. I didn't like it at all.

Ooh - that is a fancy-shmancy new toy. Love it! And, the Nutcracker is a MUST. I have loved it since my days as an angel (before I flunked out of ballet). :) So glad your Christmas was merry!

I have mixed feelings about the Nutcracker, ever since I worked for a ballet company and was required to see it over and over and over and over. Yowza.
